Reignite Hope for Africa and Its Diaspora

Join us in transforming the future of Africa with integrity and action-based leadership.

Welcome to African Union Plus – a new vision for Africa and its global descendants. This platform was created to reignite the hope of Africans and those of African descent worldwide who have grown disillusioned with the performance of the African Union. We offer a fresh, people-led approach focused on sovereignty, integrity, and action-based leadership that reflects the true interests of African nations and communities in the diaspora.

Our Vision and Mission
Join the Movement Today

We aim to unite and empower African nations and communities in the diaspora, addressing the shortcomings of the African Union and fostering a collective movement for positive change and representation.

Welcome to African Union Plus – Pan-Africanism in Action

African Union Plus is a bold, people-driven platform advancing Africa’s liberation through unity, empowerment, and action. We exist to connect Africans across the continent and the diaspora to take back our voice, our resources, and our future. Here, Pan-Africanism moves beyond words; we organise, educate, and mobilise for real change. Join us in building the Africa we deserve.

Vision & Mission

At African Union Plus, our vision is a truly liberated, united, and self-reliant Africa that is governed by the will of its people, free from foreign domination and economic dependency. Our mission is to build a continental platform that advances practical Pan-African action through civic participation, strategic advocacy, youth empowerment, cultural reclamation, and economic independence. We champion African-led solutions, support grassroots movements, and offer tools for mobilisation, learning, and leadership development. AU Plus exists to help Africans shape a future where sovereignty, dignity, and unity are no longer aspirational—but fully realised.

Our Story

African Union Plus was born out of frustration with decades of unmet promises, symbolic unity, and silence in the face of neo-colonial domination. Our founders—Pan-African thinkers, youth organisers, elders, and diaspora leaders—came together to create an alternative platform rooted in truth, transparency, and people-led action. AU Plus is the result of collective visioning, forged in conversations from Accra to Addis, Dakar to Durban, and across diaspora circles. We do not seek to replace the African Union but to ignite its original purpose by demanding accountability, championing sovereignty, and placing power back in the hands of African people.

The “Plus” in African Union Plus signifies more than a continental body—it is a call to action, an evolution beyond rhetoric. AU Plus goes further by uniting citizens, activists, and institutions under one umbrella for transformation. We are Pan-Africanism in action: mobilising communities, building leadership, reclaiming resources, and creating people-centred governance. AU Plus is where Africa’s untapped potential meets organised strategy. We are not content with declarations and policies; we measure impact through lives improved, voices amplified, and systems changed. This is where the real African Union begins—one owned by the people.

The Problem with the AU

The African Union was founded with noble ideals, but decades later, it remains largely symbolic, bureaucratic, and disconnected from the masses. It is often silent on urgent injustices and constrained by foreign funding, weak enforcement, and a lack of transparency. Its leadership is too often handpicked, rather than people-elected, and its decisions rarely trickle down to benefit ordinary Africans. AU Plus exists to confront these failures. We believe Pan-African unity cannot be imposed from above; it must be built from the ground up. Our work calls for bold reforms and a new social contract between African leaders and the people they serve.

Who We Serve

AU Plus is for every African, whether living on the continent or in the diaspora, who believes in Africa’s right to determine its destiny. We serve youth demanding opportunity, women fighting for justice, elders defending tradition, farmers seeking land sovereignty, and entrepreneurs building alternatives to imported dependency. Our platform is open to communities, collectives, artists, scholars, and movements. From street organisers in Kinshasa to tech innovators in Kigali, from African-Caribbean descendants in Jamaica to Black communities in Europe and the Americas, we are building a unified space where all Africans have a voice and a role.

Pan-Africanism is not just an idea—it is a commitment to act. At AU Plus, your voice matters, and your participation is powerful. By joining our movement, you become part of a continental network working to reclaim African resources, reform failed institutions, and build systems rooted in African values. Whether you are an activist, student, policymaker, artist, or simply a concerned citizen, there is a place for you here. Sign up as a member, volunteer with a local chapter, or support our campaigns. Together, we will shape an Africa that serves its people, not foreign interests. The time to act is now.
