Liberation & Sovereignty
Reclaiming Africa's political and economic independence through self-determination and cultural empowerment. True progress for Africa begins with reclaiming political and economic sovereignty. African Union Plus advocates for the liberation of Africa from neo-colonial control and foreign dependency, emphasising self-determination, resource ownership, and cultural empowerment.
Decolonisation & African Sovereignty
True progress for Africa begins with reclaiming political and economic sovereignty. African Union Plus advocates for the liberation of Africa from neo-colonial control and foreign dependency, emphasising self-determination, resource ownership, and cultural empowerment.
The New Colonial Chains
Despite the formal end of colonisation, Africa continues to face the burden of new colonial chains through exploitative trade agreements, foreign-controlled institutions, and manipulative aid systems. These modern tools of domination mask themselves in diplomacy and development, yet they strip Africans of true agency and self-determination. African Union Plus exposes these neo-colonial frameworks and builds awareness around the policies and partnerships that continue to keep Africa economically and politically subordinated.
Economic Sovereignty
True freedom for Africa begins with economic sovereignty—the ability to control our resources, define our trade policies, and set our financial priorities. We advocate for African-centred development models that prioritise intra-African trade, industrialisation, fair taxation, and the repatriation of stolen wealth. Our vision promotes state and community ownership of critical industries and banks that serve the people, not foreign shareholders.
Many African governments still rely on foreign military aid, foreign advisors, and externally funded political campaigns, undermining the very essence of independence. African Union Plus promotes the creation of sovereign, accountable defence systems and a political class that answers only to its citizens. We push for an end to foreign military bases, covert interventions, and political puppetry. The future must be shaped by African hands alone.
Military & Political Independence
African Cultural Reclamation
Colonialism not only took land, but it also attempted to erase African identity. We are leading efforts to reclaim and revive African languages, philosophies, indigenous knowledge systems, and traditional art forms. From storytelling and drumming to attire and rituals, cultural reclamation is essential to rebuilding pride and unity across Africa. African Union Plus empowers communities to decolonise education and restore what was once stolen or suppressed.
Pan-African Movements & History
Understanding the history of Pan-Africanism—from Kwame Nkrumah and Marcus Garvey to the liberation struggles of the 20th century—is vital to reclaiming the future. African Union Plus re-educates youth and communities on the true narratives of resistance, solidarity, and Black excellence that united Africans globally. These histories guide our mission and remind us that unity across borders is not just idealistic—it is necessary.
Dependency on foreign aid, foreign validation, and foreign institutions weakens Africa’s growth and decision-making. African Union Plus champions a continental strategy for self-reliance: building African industries, African tech, and African institutions that answer to African needs. We reject the narrative that Africa must always be helped from outside. Instead, we centre African strength, resourcefulness, and the power of the diaspora.
