Voices United
Amplifying African experiences, concerns, and aspirations for a better future together.
Your Voice Is The Key
African Union Plus is grounded in the voices of real Africans and the diaspora. This space shares testimonials, concerns, and visions from across the continent and beyond, ensuring the people's experiences, frustrations, and aspirations shape our direction and advocacy efforts.
People's Concerns with the AU
Across the continent, many Africans express growing disappointment and frustration with the African Union (AU), which they feel has become distant from the grassroots. From its inaction in the face of conflicts and coups to its perceived failure to curb foreign interference and elite corruption, citizens question the AU's relevance to their lived realities. African Union Plus amplifies these concerns—not as complaints, but as calls to reform, accountability, and true representation. We platform everyday voices who demand a Union that serves the people, not powerful elites or foreign donors.
Diaspora Reflections
Africans in the diaspora from the Americas to Europe and the Caribbean bring unique insights into the global Pan-African struggle. Their reflections highlight both solidarity and disillusionment, as they often feel sidelined by continental institutions. Despite this, the diaspora continues to engage in cultural revival, economic investment, and political advocacy for the liberation of Africa and its people. African Union Plus bridges this gap, creating a platform for diasporic voices to influence, critique, and co-create Africa’s future.
Africa’s youths are not merely the future; they are the present catalysts of transformation. Across the continent, young people are raising their voices through protests, tech innovation, art, and policy activism. African Union Plus captures their perspectives on issues ranging from political marginalisation and unemployment to digital rights and Pan-African unity. These narratives are powerful and urgent, rejecting tokenism and demanding a seat at the decision-making table.

Women’s Voices
The voices of African women are central to any meaningful Pan-African agenda. From market women and farmers to scholars and activists, African women carry the burden of survival and the vision of liberation. Yet they are often unheard or excluded from national and continental leadership. African Union Plus intentionally centres women's voices—those resisting gender-based violence, building economic resilience, leading peace negotiations, and reclaiming African knowledge systems.
Regional Reports
Africa is diverse and dynamic, with regional experiences that shape the Pan-African discourse in unique ways. African Union Plus shares on-the-ground reports from each region—highlighting successes, challenges, and movements for justice and sovereignty. These updates include youth protests in West Africa, women-led peacebuilding in East Africa, cultural resistance in North Africa, indigenous rights in Central Africa, and democratic reform in Southern Africa. Regional insight strengthens continental solidarity.
We believe that every African voice matters, whether based in Accra, Nairobi, Bamako, or the Bronx. This section invites Africans on the continent and in the diaspora to submit their testimonies, ideas, critiques, and visions for Africa’s future. Through text, audio, or video, contributors become part of a living Pan-African conversation—one not limited to elites or official channels. African Union Plus is your space to be heard and honoured.
