Africa’s youth are the heartbeat of the continent, yet many feel voiceless and ignored by traditional institutions. African Union Plus provides tools, networks, and opportunities to empower young Africans to lead, innovate, and transform their societies on their terms.

Youth Engagement in Governance

African Union Plus believes that meaningful transformation begins when young people are actively involved in shaping the decisions that affect their lives. We are creating platforms and policy pathways for youth to participate in national dialogues, local councils, and continental advocacy efforts. Through town halls, mock parliaments, and youth policy think-tanks, we are training a new generation of African leaders who are politically conscious, ethically grounded, and socially responsive. This initiative bridges the gap between generations and prepares youth to lead with accountability and vision.

Skills & Education Initiatives

Education must be both liberating and empowering. Our Skills & Education Initiatives provide young Africans with practical, community-based learning that complements traditional schooling. We focus on Pan-African curricula, problem-solving education, and technical training in areas such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and healthcare. Our programmes are rooted in African realities and designed to dismantle the colonial frameworks that have failed our youth.

Africa's youth are not just the future—they are the solution. We support young innovators and entrepreneurs by providing access to seed funding, idea incubation hubs, peer networks, and business mentorship. From eco-startups to tech solutions and local manufacturing, we champion youth-led businesses that solve African problems with African ideas. We also promote cooperative entrepreneurship to build sustainable and inclusive economic models.

Mentorship Programmes

Our Mentorship Programmes connect aspiring youth with seasoned African professionals, change-makers, and community elders. These relationships foster confidence, build life skills, and open doors to personal and professional development. Digital & Civic Literacy

Digital and civic literacy are cornerstones of youth empowerment in the 21st century. African Union Plus offers training in digital skills—from basic computer literacy to advanced coding—as well as education on civil rights, responsibilities, and governance structures. We equip youth to navigate the digital economy, counter disinformation, and become responsible digital citizens who use technology to uplift communities and hold leaders accountable.

We celebrate and spotlight African Youth Champions—exceptional individuals who are changing their communities through innovation, activism, and service. These champions serve as inspiration and role models across the continent, representing the diverse brilliance of African youth. Through storytelling, awards, and media platforms, we amplify their voices and demonstrate the real impact of young Africans leading change from the grassroots up.
