It focuses on self-reliance, leadership development, and community transformation by equipping individuals and collectives with the tools they need to challenge dependency, reclaim their future, and drive African-centred progress.

Economic Empowerment

At the heart of African Union Plus is a commitment to Economic Empowerment rooted in ownership, dignity, and self-reliance. We support entrepreneurship that keeps wealth circulating within African communities, encourages cooperative business models, and strengthens locally owned enterprises. Through financial literacy programmes, access to ethical micro-financing, and marketplace mentorship, we equip individuals and groups with the tools to break generational poverty. Our focus is on building an economic system that favours African priorities over foreign profits, one enterprise at a time.

Leadership Development

Africa’s future depends on principled, accountable leadership that places people above profit and the nation above personal ambition. Our Leadership Development initiatives nurture a new generation of Pan-African leaders through structured mentorship, ethical leadership training, civic internships, and exposure to historical role models. By equipping youth and professionals with the skills, networks, and integrity needed to lead with purpose, we are cultivating changemakers who will not only occupy positions of power but transform them from within.

Empowering women and girls are not just a moral imperative, it is a strategic necessity for Africa’s progress. Our Women & Girls Rising programme champions gender justice through community education, legal advocacy, and empowerment centres that provide training, protection, and a voice to women across the continent. We support girl-led movements, work to end gender-based violence, and promote access to education and health services. When African women rise, families thrive, communities grow stronger, and nations become resilient.

Education for Liberation

We reject colonial education systems that disconnect African youth from their roots. Instead, our Education for Liberation programme reimagines learning by placing African history, philosophy, languages, and indigenous sciences at the centre of the curriculum. From re-writing textbooks to launching Afrocentric learning platforms and public lectures, we are restoring knowledge systems that empower Africans to think critically, act independently, and innovate in ways that reflect our values and realities.

Skill & Talent Acceleration

Africa is rich in untapped talent, especially among its youth. Our Skill & Talent Acceleration programme invests in vocational training, the creative arts, and digital literacy tailored to African industries and global opportunities. Whether it’s carpentry, fashion design, coding, or music production, we connect young people to tools, mentors, and markets that turn skills into livelihoods. This approach not only combats unemployment, it celebrates and monetises African creativity and craftsmanship.

Sustainable development must come from within. Through our Community-Led Solutions initiative, we support local changemakers to identify, lead, and scale grassroots responses to the challenges they understand best. From urban farming to youth councils and village cooperatives, we provide capacity building, seed funding, and policy advocacy that amplify community voices. We believe the most effective solutions are those designed by and for the people, anchored in local wisdom and democratic participation.
